TEAM INDMAR PARTICIPATES IN MULTIPLE CLEAN UP DAYS
Building a Lasting Culture of Community Engagement and Responsibility

MILLINGTON, Tenn., Mar. 27, 2025 – Indmar Marine Engines, in partnership with the Millington City Beautiful Commission, hosted the inaugural Community Cleanup Day Saturday, May 17th. The event brought together more than 100 enthusiastic volunteers who gathered at Discovery Nature Park with a shared mission: to serve and beautify the Millington community.

Volunteers collectively covered over 18 miles of city roadsides and parks, removing trash and debris. The event drew support from local leadership, with Mayor Larry Dagen, Commissioner Amber Mills, and City Planner Frankie Daken joining in to encourage participants and work alongside residents.

“Thank you, Millington, for making our first annual Community Cleanup a success,” said T. Ann Turner, Chair of the Millington City Beautiful Commission. “Your efforts helped create a cleaner, greener city—and a stronger community spirit.  We are One Millington.”

The initiative received generous support from over a dozen local businesses. Chick-fil-A provided breakfast for volunteers, while Scooter’s Coffee donated coffee to fuel the day. Materials and supplies were donated by various sponsors who shared in the vision of community betterment.  The Millington City Beautiful Commission is already looking ahead to next year, with plans to make the Community Cleanup Day an annual tradition.

“We could not be more pleased with the response to this event,” said Katie Cabay, Human Resources Manager of Indmar Marine Engines. “Our goal was to make a visible impact on our city, but more importantly, to inspire a culture of service among local businesses, organizations and families.”  Cabay further explained,  “It was especially moving to see parents bringing their children to take part. The greatest impact we can make is teaching the next generation the power of service.”

In addition to the Community Cleanup Day, Indmar teamed up with Martin & White, a local HVAC business, to pick up trash and debris on Old Millington Road. Every Indmar employee participated in the clean-up and had a great time working together to clean up their hometown.

Tim Maher, President of Indmar Marine Engines, expressed, “Our commitment to improving the Millington community extends beyond just one day. By organizing multiple cleanup efforts, including our collaboration with Martin & White, we’re not just cleaning up our environment; we’re building a lasting culture of community engagement and responsibility. Together, we can create a cleaner, more vibrant place for everyone.
