INDMAR AND MILLINGTON CITY BEAUTIFUL HOST 2ND ANNUAL COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY
Bringing Together More Than 150 Volunteers

MILLINGTON, Tenn – April 30,2026 – Indmar Marine Engines, in partnership with Millington City Beautiful, proudly hosted the 2nd Annual Community Cleanup Day this past Saturday at Discovery Nature Park, bringing together more than 150 volunteers committed to creating a cleaner, brighter Millington.

Volunteers of all ages came out in force, covering more than 25 miles of roadways and park areas across the city. Working across 16 designated routes, participants collected countless bags of litter and debris, making a meaningful and visible impact throughout the community.

The morning began with refreshments generously provided by Whataburger, Tas-T-O Donuts and Scooter’s Coffee, helping fuel volunteers before they set out on their routes. Some teams were transported to more remote areas with the support of Durham Bus Services, ensuring even hard-to-reach locations received attention.

Mayor Larry Dagen addressed attendees to thank them for their dedication to the community and Alderman Thomas McGee opened the event with a prayer, setting a grateful and unified tone for the day.

“The Community Cleanup was a phenomenal success,” said Marie Thomas, Chair of Millington City Beautiful Commission. “The partnerships, sponsorships and collaborations made for a positive experience. This is what ‘One Millington’ is all about; Community coming together for a common cause. The Millington City Beautiful Commission is happy to lend its hand, because a clean city is a safe city.”

Indmar and Millington City Beautiful also extend their sincere appreciation to the Millington Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, and the Shelby County Emergency Response Team for their strong presence and commitment to keeping volunteers safe throughout the event.

Special recognition is given to Martin and White for providing trucks to patrol routes, collecting trash and supplying volunteers with water and additional materials, helping ensure the day ran smoothly.

“This event is a true reflection of the pride we have in our community,” said Tim Maher, President of Indmar Marine Engines.  “We are grateful for every volunteer, sponsor and partner who made this day such a success.”  The 2nd Annual Community Cleanup Day stands as a testament to the impact of community collaboration and civic pride. Indmar and Millington City Beautiful look forward to continuing this tradition and building on the momentum in years to come.
